New Graphic Novels Using AI
Updated: Sep 5

My upcoming graphic novel release will be my final Nivanfield project. While the online thirst for more Nivanfield art never ends, this will be my last Nivanfield project. My desire is to move on to projects of a personal creative interest.
However, what makes this release different will be my first use of AI. While I understand the public divisiveness around using AI for art, I want to be fully transparent in how it will be used. All of my images are entirely created and rendered in Daz 3D using actual 3D models that have been personally crafted. Every scene is individually set and posed with specific lighting. Then I pass each image through Photoshop for color correction. I am now adding a new step. I am now passing each rendered image through AI for clean up and polishing.

I have never been completely happy with the rendered images out of Daz 3D. They often look a little muddy with harsh contrast. Character details, particularly facial details often look awkward, exaggerated, and unrealistic. Passing these images through a low AI filter transforms them from fugly to cute without changing any significant details.

The AI program I am using is free, open-sourced software, Invoke AI, that runs entirely local on my computer using my NVIDIA graphics card. After some experimentation, I found a good formula to clean up my renders and make the characters look a little more realistic.

Starting with Aladdin, I will be slowly releasing new versions of my graphic novels, so check back for new versions as they become available. Personally, I am much happier with the final result. However, if you do not wish to support AI work in any aspect, I completely understand.
